I stayed at the Bungalow a few years back.

I liked the fact that it was in a neighborhood - which at 1st I was a bit nervous about. If the neighbors make noise - tough luck. I like to sleep at night, so that was a concern. As it turned out - no problems.

A couple years later I stayed at Man of War cottages - considered the best in town. I liked them, but everybody in town knows that the rich Americans stay there, and there was a fairly constant daily appearance of yet someone else wanting a hand-out or to sell you something. Well - the Fruit King was OK - buy your fruit right there...cool.

The Bungalow needs more fans [as of several years back] - it's hot and humid in Tobago and no AC. I was by myself, so I had 2 on me so I could sleep.

LOVED the roof deck - have a drink and stare at the stars.

NOT fancy, just a home in Tobago to call your for a week or two.

Enjoy.

The Bungalow Cottage is simply the best in Charltottesville. Situated in the quiet part of the village in Campbelton, right next to a pubblic phone, the house is 2 minutes walk from the beach. It's on two levels: the rooms on ground level with private garden are spacious and well furnishedwith simple but cosy furniture, toilet and shower are on the ground floor too, while on the top floor there's a very well equipped and moder kitchen , an enormous very bright sitting room and a large terrace with a marvellous view of the sea where one can cool down at sunset or have a qiet and peaceful breakfast in the mornings together with little blue birds which will devour your bananas if you keep them unwatched!

Enchanting!

Twice a week a very nice lady will come and change the bed linen and clean the house up. On request she will cook for you.

Prices are not cheap since the house can put up up to 6 people so if you are a couple or single the expense is quite high but you can always share with friends. You can check prices on the bungalow's website

I stayed at the Bungalow only once, the first time I was in Tobago since during the following stays in Charlottesville I was on my own and this accomodation was too expensive for me alone but will always remember the Bungalow as a paradise!

The Bungalow Cottage In Charlotteville?   28 Feb 2005

Jamie P from London, UK

Hello all!

Have any of you stayed at the Bungalow Cottage in Charlotteville before? My fiancee and I are heading to Tobago for our honeymoon and are spending the first week at the Blue Haven Hotel, but wanted to spend the second week exploring the rest of the island. We are hoping to do 3/4 day near Charlotteville, then 3/4 days near Castera or something like that to have a chance to fully explore the island and beaches.

For the second week we were hoping for something reasonably priced with a full kitchen / living area. We would cook in a few nights and also hope to find dinner out the others. We are not party people and would most likely watch a movie, relax at home or just hang out at night at a local restaurant with a bottle of wine. During the daytime we'll have a car so will be keen to explore whatever is around us.

Any information / suggestions would be most welcome!

Jamie
