My partner and our son have just returned from a week at MangoBird Villa having thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We found booking the stay very easy with all transfers, car hire and additional requirements we had being sorted out by the owner of the villa in a very propmpt fashion. The Villa itself was perfect and i feel the comment about the loose stone and broken jacuzzi a little harsh as we couldnt see any loose stone and found the jacuzzi brilliant!! The staff at the villa were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed to make our stay unforgettable. The island itself was great with lots of different things to do for a young couple. One recommendation we have would be to visit nylon bay whilst doing a boat trip of the island!! (recommended to us by the owner of the villa) Quite simply one of the best things we have even done!! The weather was perfect, local food great, (coco reef resturant being the pick of a great bunch) people were very friendly and Mango bird was perfect. We would highly recommend both Mango bird villa and Tobago to anyone!!

We visited Mangobird July 5 - 11 and were disappointed with our stay. For some, staying a weekend might be ok but if you are staying longer I have serious concerns. 1) I found the owner, Stephen John Lewis, is responsive when making the booking but is harder to reach after receiving payment. I emailed him some questions after booking but never heard back from him. Or sometimes it would take two emails to get one back. 2) The owner promises to arrange your transfers to and from the Tobago airpot only to arrive and have no transfers. When you are a family of 5 travelling with three young kids ages 7, 7 and 9, and have a lot of luggage, and I make the effort to email the owner to confirm transfers prior to arriving in Trinidad and then I call the management company the day before to confirm and then there is no pick-up - annoying to say the least. 3) To arrive in Tobago with no pick up at around 12 noon, having to call to get a pick up and then getting picked up and told the villa will not be ready for 5 hours which means we have to wait at another location while they clean the villa... is unacceptable. We were taken to another villa to wait which was ok but with three kids it was not easy. And it takes the management company that long to clean a villa after a family only stayed there a weekend? And after emailing the owner to tell him there was no pick up and we had to wait - the owner makes no effort to contact us by phone to apologize or to make ammends somehow? 4) We wanted to go to the beach that evening but there were no beach towels and the rules of the villa tell you to use the beach towels. We called the management company in the morning and were told they are being washed. 5) The jacuzzi did not work for our entire stay. The management company knew this and told us someone would fix it and that never happened. So do not expect the jacuzzi to be working even though it is listed as part of the property. And if they tell you it will be fixed... it probably will not be. Also, some of the stone around the pool is loose and uneven and can cause someone to trip and fall. This needs to be repaired. 6) The air conditioner in one of the bedrooms did not work for at least 5 nights and with three kids we needed this bedroom. And it is hot and humid in Tobago in July. And to make matters worse, the repairmen came one day but we, the guests, were obligated to wait with them for two hours while they tried to fix it. And guess what, they could not fix it. Just wondering why the owner never apoligized for this, and why he expects guests to sit around for two hours to take care of something he or the management company should be doing. Maybe the brochure or web site for Mangobird should stipulate that if any repairs need to be done while you are staying there then you, the guest, are obligated to remain at the villa until the repairs are done. 7) I emailed the owner the day we arrived to alert him there was no pick up at the airport, as well as having to wait the five hours for the villa to be ready. And then I emailed him July 13 from the U.S. to list the problems we experienced. And it is now August 15, and he still has not addressed these issues. He has emailed me to tell me he is waiting for a report from the management company. But as the owner your number one priority is to make your property ready for guests and to make the guests experience as pleasurable as possible. And if things go wrong, take action immediately. I DO NOT RECOMMEND MANGOBIRD and to wait over a month for him to address the issues we had is ridiculous. As family travellers who have experience travelling to different destinations and staying at luxury to moderate accommodations, we are fully aware that things can and do go wrong. But the common threads in the places we recommend are responsiveness and caring. And we cannot find either of those qualities with Mangobird Villa.

Satisfyingly, my friends and I chose Mangobird Villa as our property of stay over the weekend and enjoyed many many short and meaningful trips and adventures that the Island has to offer due to this magnificent villa's location. The villa is luxurious, yes but we felt right at home. Staff was excellent and non-intrusive, the villa was clean, the pool and jacuzzi are very well maintained, grounds groomed and very colourful, small and appropriate lava rock / charcoal (best for tasty BBQ's) BBQ pit . It was, indeed, a pleasure. We plan to make Mangobird Villa our home at least 3 times a year if it's popularity amongst its other satisfied returning guests and referrals permits!

Our stay at Mangobird Villa was wonderful to say the least. It is in a safe,well-lit neighbourhood and offers a great measure of privacy. The villa itself is very stylish yet quite comfortable and homey. The most is made of every available space in this beautiful villa. It was also very spotless and we found that all the conveniences of home were made available to us.

As we were vacationing with my 8 month-old son,we needed somewhere that was baby-friendly and Mangobird villa was indeed a good choice. A play-pen, high chair and plastic wares were provided for him.

The grounds are lovely especially in the evening time and we did take advantage of the BBQ pit and dine outdoors. We had all grown quite fond of the swimming pool and jacuzzi which are enticing even to the non-swimmer like myself.

All in all, my group and I gladly encourage anyone who would like to rent this villa and we ourselves hope to return there soon.
