We have just returned from Orchid Villa and once again have had a wonderful holiday with Elaine and Ashanti.
Since the last time we stayed with them the air conditioning has been installed which is a great improvement. And also the well designed swimming pool replacing the jacuzzi makes you even lazier,a swim and lay on one of the beds, who wants to go out to see the wonderful island!!
We hired a jeep from Sheppies for the two weeks and did get around to some of the places we love and also to some of the places we hadn't visited on previous hoidays to Tobago
We went over to Trinidad by plane for the day although we did see what we wanted to we perhaps should have stayed the night and seen more of Trini.
But getting back to Elaine and Ashanti, the welcome is still as good as ever, the Villa and gardens are delightful, the owls are still around together with lots of different birds eating off Elaine's feeders, including a woodpecker which we didn't see last time.
Thank you Elaine we will be back

We have stayed at other places in Tobago before, but since staying with Elaine last year we now feel that we have found Elderada. We loved Pleasant Cottage very much, it was well equiped and has everything you need, it is beautifully furnished and felt like home. Elaine treated us like family and invited us to her home for meals to meet her friends. Elaine and Ashanti, her gorgeous dog, gave us the best of holidays, Ashanti came to see us every morning, she would put her head in the gate of the plunge pool and rattle it as if to say, "Shall we go in for a dip" well, what could you do but oblige.
We enjoyed watching the wild life in Elaine's garden, one of the highlights, seeing an Iguana early one morning crossing the lawn at the back of the cottage. Birds were plentiful and Elaine showed us where to look to see a pair of white owls, which we saw most evenings.
The cottage is well located for the beaches and shops. All in all, you could say it is paradise found, and we are hoping to return as soon as possible. Thank you Elaine and Ashanti for a truly wonderfull holiday.

Probably the best 16 days I have ever experienced.Elaine was at the airport to meet us and from then on was an excellent hostess. The accommodation ( we stayed in the bungalow ) was bright ,airy ,clean , secure and more than adequate for our needs. While there we met many of Elaines friends who soon became our friends especially Ashanti the rottweiller who ,after I played with her , came to the bungalow each morning and sat by the door waiting for her daily gambol !I admit to breaking the house rule with the dog as I allowed her to get into the jacuzzi and ended up giving her "piggy back " rides and then I had to clean it as that was part of the bargain !
Car hire was very easy and although we had a map we rarely used it as it was more of an adventure to just head off and see where we ended up .We always felt safe and found the local people friendly and helpful ( this was demonstrated when we broke down and there was a rush of motorists to help us - even causing a traffic jam ).
Overall a memorable holiday made better by the care and thought that Elaine has put into her property and by the efficient but laid back approach she has when catering for her guests .
If you are looking for a relaxing but informative holiday where you have access to beaches shops and places of interest then you should stay at Orchid Villa Apartments and let the authentic Tobago embrace you .

We had a wonderful holiday staying with Elaine and Ashanti. The accomodation is very clean, secure ,near to everything that you may need, shops for day to day requirements if self catering, beaches and the beautiful countryside of Tobago.
We stayed in the little cottage and found everything there that we needed. The rest of accomodation is the same ,everything that you could possibly want has been thought of.
In fact it took a lot of effort to go out and see Tobago. The grounds are so peaceful and beatiful that you can have a relaxing nholiday just staying put and watch all the wild life around. The birds are just superb. With the new swimming pool it will be just perfect.
Elaine is a perfect hostess together with her lovely friendly Ashanti. She does not intrude but is there should you want anything,Meets you at the airport and has already left a starter pack of bread, butter coffee etc in your accomodation.
We hired a car to get around the island using a map and guess work on some of the side roads managed to see most of the island.
We felt perfectly safe at all times and although we had previously stayed in a hotel on Tobago we fell inmlove with Orchid Villa and its owner and are hoping to go back again in November
