Villa de Lena is located in the south west part of the island about a 10 minute drive from the airport (at 30 mph), it is down a big lane which gives the impression of seclusion but it is only a 5 minute walk to the nearest supermarket. Villa de Lena is a stunning villa, it has everything you need for a perfect holiday.
The villa was very clean and spacious. The kitchen is quite large and has great facilities – large Freezer, cooker, Microwave etc. The bedrooms were Air Conditioned, which was fantastic for getting out of the heat for a short while. It has very beautiful gardens which had a wide range of trees (banana, coconut, mango, grapefruit) and flowers. The gazebo was a big open space with a small bar/kitchen area with toilets and a shower. The pool area was fantastic there was a sheltered area which came in very handy. There is a housekeeper and gardeners that come to the villa every 2 or 3 days. The housekeeper is called Velma, she is a very nice woman. We found that quite a few people we spoke to (or had excursions with), knew the Villa as “The Big White House”. It is a beautiful place and we really miss it.
I would advise hiring a car while staying here as it just makes things that little bit easier. We stayed here for 2 weeks and felt completely safe. We left the gate to the villa open one day and Police came by to check we were ok. It made us feel more secure knowing there was a community Police presence.
After coming out of the villa, go down Estate Road and take a left and after a 5 minute journey down the road you will come to the cheapest supermarket Penny Savers, this is also the biggest supermarket on the island and would have the best variety. Before you come to Penny Savers, there is a row of shops, Primary School and a Chemist. The Chemist was very handy when we eventually found it, as the sun lotion and aftersun was half the price than the supermarket. Also handy for getting painkillers etc.

I was very impressed with Villa de Lena, especially the grounds.. they are immaculate, beautiful lanscaped with palm trees lining the driveway, flowers, shrubs and fruit trees.
Villa de Lena provided me and my guests with a serene and tranquil environment for a vacation. The interior design of the house was elegantly styled with an open floor plan, very airy. The house has a seperate TV area and living room with a guest bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was large and fully equipped with cooking utensils. I only needed to buy food. The spiral staircase in the middle of the house invites you to another world upstairs.. to the bedrooms with their individual balconies and a sun deck. I enjoyed every minute of the four days I spent at Villa de Lena and will definetly stay there again on my next trip to Tobago in 2009.
P.S. You may want to rent a car to get around as there is a short walk to the main road.

We have just spent a very enjoyable two weeks at Villa de Lena on a family holiday (dad, mum & 2 adult children) on our first trip to Tobago. The only reasons we didn't give it 5 stars were: we had very high expectations from the description; the pool is great for lounging around but slightly too small for serious swimmimg and an awkward shape underwater ("pool toe" from the sloping sides is a common observation in the house guest book); the sea 300m away is a concrete jetty in the mangrove on the edge of Buccoo reserve where many of the local tour boats operate from so there is no access to the beach or for swimming.
Service at the villa was very helpful and friendly (Velma the house keeper and Clive the head gardener). The accommodation was excellent, with plenty of space and well equipped.
Access is via an un-made road (Bon Accord Estate Road) off Milford Road and the villa is identifiable on Google Earth so we had no trouble finding it straight from the airport on our own. The locals seem to know it as the big white house on the bumpy road: a basic, but accurate description.
We were very sorry to have to leave when our time was up.
No hesitation about recommending it.

Beautiful property, 6 of us stayed there without lack of space or privacy. Very clean, quite a trek to the beach if you decide to walk but only a 5 minute drive. Wonderfully private but not far from the main road. Great value for money

We loved Villa De Lena. A great house in well maintained gardens. Good quality fittings and equipment, even a PC. A bargain.
We loved Tobago as well, especially the less popular bays such as Pirate's Bay. Pigeon Point was a bit disappointing due to the litter, but frankly litter was a problem all over the island.
