Villa Rennie is old tired and has seen better days. I have no doubt that it was a very disireable residence years ago but not now. The gardens and pool are the only area's I could praise (be aware that the pool is very deep)The bed rooms are fairly small and are in real need of redecorating and updating the same can be said for the bath rooms. The living room is large and opens up nicely onto a decking area and the pool the fans the living room do not perform very well at all. The kitchen is small but functional.

The Villa is situated in a very quiet and secluded location and I must say we felt safe staying there. Be prepared for a considerable walk to the beach invluding a big hill to climb on the way back. You will definatly need a car.

I have been to Trinidad and Tobago on many occasions and I have fallen in love with Tobago and have no doubt that we will return in the future however never to Villa Rennie.

Do not spend your money on staying here there are far better Villa's available in Tobago. Do your home work and do not get caught out like we did!

PS Good luck if you try and complain to the owner I got know where at all.

This is a case when the pictures on the web actually do justice to a place. Villa Rennie is beautiful inside and out. It is close to the beach but tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood. We loved the birds, the breeze, and the beautiful pool.

I was very disappointed and very unhappy with my stay at Villa Rennie. It is quite a large property but not well maintained.

I sent an email to the owner of the property just recently addressing my concerns where the rental of Villa Rennie is concerned

I hope he seriously looks into those matters and fix them. Again the house is nice, but it needs maintenance when one is paying good money to rent such a Villa.

One point i would like to post. Most villas advertise their pools as large to draw the eye of the prospective tenant, however Villa Rennie's pool is not as big as it looks. And let me tell you, very very deep. So if you have young kids in your party like I did. Be Careful, if they are not good swimmers.

The villa and location were everything we needed for a Christmas and New Year break. Plenty of space, lovely grounds (flowers, plants, birds), good accommodation, efficient aircon, Brilliant pool. Easy to shop at Gourmet Foods, but a lot more fun in the "local" Penny Savers supermarket, the local fruit and veg stalls, and the roadside fishermen.

We had brilliant, sunny weather pretty much all of the time. One of the highlights being a Christmas Day BBQ and relaxing round the pool - fantastic.

Euphemia, Andy, the pool girl (don't recall her name) and Mr. Grant very friendly and helpful, but left us to relax in peace.

You just have to go to Sunday School and Buccoo - late and very loud!! We also liked the local bars around Canaan - the Saturday night local dance at the Green Room was fun (Milford Road, just before the Shirvan Road turn) - don't be put of by the dark interior and the totally local clientel!

We spent 3 great weeks at villa rennie and will definately check it out again when we next book our holiday in tobago

we've stayed in the mount irvine area many times and found villa rennie comfortable and very private

the beach and the fish stalls are an easy 5 minute stroll which meant we could walk down and snorkell off mount irvine beach and collect our fish for the bbq on the way back (after a little light refreshment from earl in surfers bar)

the house and gardens are lovely- we picked avocados mangoes and limes almost every day and always had a vase of lovely exotic flowers

the pool and terrace area are great we spent most nights out there having a bbq-the kitchen is well stocked if you like to eat in and having a dishwasher made it very easy-there's also a ice/drink dispenser fridge/freezer which we all used so no need to carry bottled water

the only thing that was a problem was not having spare keys as there were 8 of us going out in 2 cars and not always returning together i think we should have asked mr grant early on to sort out a spare set-but that aside we really enjoyed our stay and as i said we'll probabaly book rennie again if its available
