Discover for yourself why Footprints Eco Resort is a solution you can be comfortable with.

At Footprints we have two imperatives, preservation and protection of the environment and the comfort of our guests. You will find that these guide all aspects of our construction and operations. We have maximized the use of local and recycled building materials, and the use of renewable energy. The structures have been built on columns, and wooden walkways have been installed along the seafront minimizing earthworks and preventing silt runoff.

The 62 acre property, located a 45 minute drive from Crown Point on the island´s Caribbean coast, is designated a nature preserve, and is being extensively reforested with native species. We invite you to become involved by planting or adopting a tree during your stay with us. We will provide you with regular updates on the progress of your tree and any wildlife that may inhabit it, and hope that you will come back to visit it time and time again. There are numerous nature trails, suitable for hiking or bird watching. Additionally, we grow fresh organic herbs and vegetables on site to make us self sufficient in these items.

Our saltwater pools draw water directly from Culloden Bay. The use of seawater as opposed to fresh water helps to preserve our planet´s dwindling fresh water resource. It also ensures that the fish which live in the seaward pool are assured of an ideal environment, as in this pool the water is constantly refreshed and untreated. Culloden Reef itself offers excellent snorkeling just off the beach on one of Tobago´s most pristine reefs.

The Cocoa House Restaurant features a retracting thatch roof, reminiscent of Culloden´s history as a former sugar and cocoa estate, and creates a magical dining experience under the stars.

The buildings are unobtrusive, designed to enhance rather than overshadow the beauty of Caribbean blue waters and rolling green hills. The buildings all blend harmoniously with the ridge tops and valleys where they nestle, hiding surprisingly luxurious and comfortable interiors with inspirational views. All woods used in construction are locally grown in Trinidad and Tobago or native to the region, in addition, much of the teak is reclaimed from waste wood, and all of the wallaba is recycled. The roofs of the building are made from the leaves of the timit palm, a durable attractive covering that was the first material ever used for roofing in Trinidad and Tobago.

For all these reasons and more, we invite you to explore Footprints Eco Resort Tobago´s most unique vacation experience. Truly, a solution you can be comfortable with.

I absolutely loved my stay at footprints eco resort, the service was great, staff friendly and the food was out of this world...i think i put on a few pounds lol.

this was actually my second trip to footprints and believe me, it wont be my last!!!!

i would recommend footprints to anyone, its a great location away from everything and everyone, just you and that special person (if you go as couple) with lots of privacy in pvt pools and jacuczi. and the garden rooms are comfartable with a perfect view of the cocoa house resturant, the best view of the garden to relax with the sound of birds and the waves, the scent of fresh air, and the most amazing butterflies and birds that welcome you everyday!!! beautiful and peaceful and relaxing and i enjoyed every minute of my stay and actually plannin my next trip right now!

its the perfect getaway.................perfect!!!!

I am writing from Footprints at this moment, our tenth year here. This is paradise, this is Tobago. Ocean, the best local cuisine around, a family atmosphere. Two gorgeous saltwater infinity pools flowing into the coral beach.

Eco lodge, yes, "spa" no. If you were expecting a US Canyon Ranch-style spa with massages and yoga, forget it. This is an extraordinary rustic experience, though the rooms - now renovated - are luxurious cabins. The villas have their own little swimming pool and there is a jacuzzi.

The comment below by "Azad" is worth reading: this is not the typical hotel.

But why bother with typical. You can even open the thatched roof over the restaurant by pulling on the ropes.

I notice that ALL the negative comments seem to come one person with a variant of the name "Natasha." It goes back three years to a bad period of renovation. I was there. It was a little ragged; but all is fixed now as I sit here typing (they now have WiFi).

There is also a two-mile long hiking trail above Footprints overlooking the sea.

I only hope that one day they will restore the extraordinary look-out deck on the sea cliff. But then, from your room, the sound of the waves and the view are just astonishing. There is no parallel on Tobago.

And as the other guest said, the Persad family are excellent guides to the island.
