I stayed at the Bananaquit. It was not what I expected - nothing close to what I viewed online. The surroundings were not well kept. The entrance was not attractive and enless mosquitoe! I had to spend the night on the soft because I couldn't sleep and wanted to watch T.V. since there were no T.V in the bedrooms. Also, I had to leave the car in the road. However, the location was good.

I took almost a year before making a contribution. May 2011 I and four other adult female stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The best feature we liked was the space. The upstairs loft bedroom had a double bed and a single bed. The downstairs bedroom had two single beds. One of my sister and her adult daughter shared the double bed and the rest of us had our own bed. The location was close to everything and walking distance to the beach. Parking was howevery very limited and on our arrival after a lot of traffic because it was a holiday weekend we were left standing waiting for the manager to return. It was only after we complained to her husband of the long wait and having no where to sit he contact her by phone and we were shown to our apartment. But I will stay there again because of the location and the spacy apartment

HORRIBLE!!! DIRTY, DINGY AND DUSTY!! Do not stay here, you will be highly disappointed. This was the ONLY place that had availability the week of the great race 2010, and I can see why. The place is dirty, cob webs and dust everywhere. Sheets and towels are only changed after every 3 nights. The air conditioner did not work and although I informed the office, and they said someone would come to check it, h no one ever showed up, I informed the office twice and got the same reply each time. The refrigerator functions more like a cooler and does not really keep things cold. All of the pans to cook in are old and crusty, you would not want to use the pans to cook in. If there were options at other locations I would have checked out. I would not recommend this to place to ANYONE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Thank goodness we only had to pay for one night in advance because we left the very next day. The manager of the property even had the gaul to tell us that we couldn't and that there was a three night minimum!!!Imagine, telling someone that you were not happy with the place and they more upset than you!!! The place was infested with mosquitoes ( my son woke up covered in bites!), airconditioning didn't work well ( couldn't even sleep with covers), bed was uncomfortable (couldn't sleep for the entire night),the two pillows on the bed were virtually flat!! The sheet and towels were dingy!! We had a hot plate that took forever to heat was just the worst...would never go there again or reccommend it to anyone!!!

I'm willing to bet that there are two types of people who would consider accommodations at Bananaquit: 1) Those on a budget and (2) Those looking for a place to stay at the last moment when lodging at other Crown Point Hotels are booked.

I'm pleased to say that for the price, Bananaquit is an excellent option under both circumstances above.

As reported by others, it's a small Hotel within walking distance to the Airport, Store Bay Beach, Bars & Restaurants. The room I stayed in was the loft apartment. It's cozy and well kept and includes a small kitchen area, TV with cable and a Shared Balcony.

The staff at Bananaquit are very friendly and helpful. I arrived at the Hotel after hours (Office was closed) and was greeted with a wall mounted written message that the room was open and ready and I could formally check-in the following morning! Now that's service -- not to mention trust in humanity.

In my opinion, most people would not consider this Hotel as their first or even second choice in the Crown Point area given the other (nicer?) Hotel options nearby. With that said, if you do find yourself considering Bananaquit for budgetary or availability reasons, you won't be disappointed.
