Whenever I travel I rely a lot on reviews of places, and before traveling to Tobago I read up many reviews on this guesthouse and they were decent. We had a huge family reunion in Tobago in July and we reserved about 9 rooms at Bananaquit but was so horribly disappointed when we arrived.

To start with one of the "amenities" in the room is bug spray and you will end up using this amenity more than any other amenity because there are little roaches all over the rooms - even on the bed! This was in all of the rooms!

Me and my family members are not picky travelers but we expect at minimum a clean, roach free room. It was such an embarassment having my family members stay here, and the next day we had to find all of them different accomodations, which was quite stressful, but necessary.

In the end we got great rates for them at Tropikist and Grand Courlan, and we do all laugh about that first night now and refer to Bananaquit as Bananapit!

We wanted something a little private yet cozy and found just that within the Bananaquit. It was close to Shore Bay and the area was very busy.

The suite was clean, our maid was extremely friendly not to mention Giselle whom helped us with maps, arranging a car service and made our stay a memorable one.

I love the feeling of it not being busy, and it was private enough where you didn't see the other guest.

Definitely will stay there again when I return to Tobago.

Perfectly situated for all ameneties. Clean, well-maintained and spacious accommodation. Use of the pool in the next door Store Bay Beach Facility an added bonus. The owner's are lovely - very friendly and helpful. Kitchen facilities basic but sufficient and did not dtract from an enjoyable stay. I would recommend these apartments to my friends, and will be staying here again.

Had an unfortunate experience attempting to reserve a room at Bananaquit. Called in the morning (in January) requesting a room for one night in March - I specifically asked if there was any policy against renting for one night only and was assured by the gentleman I spoke to that it would be fine and my reservation was accepted. I was given bank account details to make payment.

Called back in the afternoon to ask an unrelated question about the property and spoke to a woman who identified herself as either the owner or manager. She asked my name and reservation details and upon hearing that it was one night only promptly refused to honour it, implying that one night bookings were just a nuisance to her.

Totally unaccommodating and selfish of her, especially as she admitted that she had neglected to inform the gentleman I had spoken to earlier that this was her policy.

In the circumstances I thought she could have made an exception as the fault was clearly hers/her staff's and accepted the booking in good faith.

Don't think she cared one way or the other as she even laughed and said "that's good, go ahead" when I told her I would be making a report to the Tobago House of Assembly about her attitude.

I will never make another booking at Bananaquit.

This was a lovely split level apartment for 2 with a balcony overlooking the garden. With a micorwave and a gas ring but we didn't need to cook as there were plenty of restaurants close by. The water pressure was a bit hit and miss but it would come back up again - there was only one particularly frustrating attempt to bathe.

Fantastic location right by the airport (but surprisingly little noise)and a five minute walk to Store Bay beach, we didn't have a car but this was no problem there was plenty to do within walking distance for our 4 day stay. There was a little mall with a mini-market and fast food shops a couple of minutes away.

The owners and staff were all freindly and helpful it was a great little place, I would hope to return to Banaquit and would highly recommend it. It was a reasonable price and the bird life in the garden is magical. It was exactly what we needed for a low key, low cost, conveniently located wind-down after Carnival... a perfect end to our vacation.
