The location is right next to Store Bay beach and the airport. However, the service is terrible!

The people are rude, especially the manager.

We are easy going travellers so we didn't care to much about the problems the apartment had. (Several days no hot water, air conditioning didn't really work so our room was full of water, we hardly got any towels and our refrigerator didn't really work).

We told them about the problems but they didn't really care and did not help. Because we want to enjoy our stay we didn't let the malfunctions spoil our holiday.

But at our departure they tried to make us pay more for bullshit. They even said that we sexually harassed two cleaning ladies, which was absolutely not true!! It was our (quit enjoying) neighbor. We told them and apparently the cleaning ladies gave them the wrong room number (which is ok because that can happen, the apartments are also right next to each other). But even so we told them he kept by this point. Can you imagine!! As a customer!! After all the malfunctions, they tried to get money form us and treated us with this disrespect!

Next to these apartments is the Crowm point beach hotel, which is a little bit more expensive but SO MUCH better!! Please people go to the right apartment! We stayed here for the first couple of days. And will go next year.

I am very surprised the reviews for the Johnston Appartments are not worse.

This is my first negative review so they did a good job in pissing me off!

Two places were recommended to me by a friend who lives in Tobago, and after viewing the site on the Internet, I chose Johnston Apts. I had absolutely no regret in choosing or staying at Johnston. I felt comfortable and secured. The bed was comfortable, the bath towels smell great, and the facilities were always kept clean.

All types of kitchen utencils were available to us, even a rolling pin, so we were able to make our Roast Bake for our Sunday morning breakfast. Whatever was requested from front office, the service was prompt. It was home away from home. Everything was within walking distance the Beach, Supermarkets, and the Pharmacy.

The staff was very friendly.

I would recommend Johnston Apartments to anyone who wants a good vacation in Tobago.

Johnston Apts was the perfect property for our family vacation with our young daughter. The views from the room were fantastic and the property itself is breathtaking. we loved the fact that there was security on the compound 24/7 and that the apartment was spacious, clean and airy. We were happy that it came with a microwave, stove, toaster and a wide variety of crockery, cutlery and numerous kitchen gadgets! Anne Marie was very nice, helpful and friendly and made our trip enjoyable. Johnston's all about location, location, location! It's right on Store Bay with its kiosks with delicious local foods, crafts, local sweets including homemade ice cream and tickets to Buccoo Reef! We would highly recommend Johnston Apts to any traveler to Tobago!

The rooms themselves are a little basic, but clean and spacious. What you pay for are the beautiful views of Store bay and for the beach access to be literally right on your doorstep. I think most people who have stayed here would agree that this is what makes this place special.

A couple of points to bear in mind:

Their website says there is complimentary wireless access within the compound. This is slightly misleading. We were told that the wifi hub is actually at the Crown Point Hotel, next to the Johnston apartments. If you're staying near to the apartment reception, as we were, you won't be able to pick up the wifi from your rooms. This was frustrating for me. Even though it was only a short walk away, you have to be quite close to the hotel to pick up a signal.

It can get quite noisy outside in the mornings and evenings (if you're near the reception). I was woken/kept up by loud music blaring out from a cars outside the apartments. I am assuming these belonged to some of the vendors with stalls near the apartment.

The grounds themselves are well kept and there is secure parking. Steps give you access to the beach, which although busy, is absolutely beautiful. It has perfect sand, with very few pebbles and some shady areas for those who need a rest from the sun. The waves aren't too strong and there's no seaweed. It was one of the few of the more popular beaches to actually serve local food - well worth a try!

Excellent value for money. Two of the best features of this property are 1- it's right smack on the beach and 2- access to the neighbouring facilties at Crown Point hotel.

Grounds are pretty well kept and security make regular rounds of the compound.Friendly and helpful/courteous staff.

There's still much to be desired..but really for the price, you cant really complain..proximity to the beach and pool makes up for alot.
