Wanted to expressed my stay at Merle's house was very friendly and family atmosphere.. The owner, Mr. Marcelle picked me and my friend up at the airport to stay at his rental for 1 week. We were able to utilized the pool and pick fruits..etc. Services were great because when we need something the owner was there to help and guide me with the sights and sound to the island. If he was unavailable then he will plan transportation to pick me and my friends up or I walk to the locations...if there are not too far. Just wanted to say "that I had the best time of my LIFE". WIll recommend... the family atmosphere always feel at home....xoxo...Tobago....

My family has been staying at Merles house since 2007, We enjoyed our stay there so much that whenever anyone asked we recommend Merles house, we have become personal friends with the owner and his son, who are quite nice as everyone stated his daughter has a attitude that can really turn ppl off, she does not show any appreciation for what her father is trying to do ( usual with black head chicken). But other than that the place is really a home away from home, were you can really enjoy a vacation.

Its a way away from everything, Pennysavers the grocery is just out the road, Store Bay an Pigeon point beaches about 20mins away. Not to far is also Rosie's bakery for nice breakfast on mornings. Merles house is the best.

Arrangements were made for the owner to pick us up at the airport. After waiting 40 mins found a phone and called they seemed suprise that we had arrived? Daughter arrived who was extremely unfriendly. We struggled to put the suitcases in the boot of the car as it was filled with garbage and maggotts.

The room was dark and smelt of mould. The fridge was rusty and there were plenty mosquitos in the room.

However, friends who were also staying there were in the upstairs appartments and their rooms were clean and new so it all depends which rooms you are allocated.

The pool seemed nice and the water warm although because of the trees surrounding it there were loads of insects floating in the water. The pool is not chlorinated and all in the party who had been in the pool were sick for the week including my 3 year old.

Paid $400 tt dollars per night.

I would not recommend.

I must say that I was pleased with Merle's House. It offers basic accommodation for a relaxing stay at Tobago. Additionally, there is a pool which we hardly used because Pigeon Point and Store Bay were just 5 minutes away. :-)

Our two day stay at Merle's guest house was wonderful. the atmosphere was very peaceful & quite. The rooms were very clean & the kitchen well stocked with the items needed to cook your own meal. The owner & his family were very polite & helpful. There currently a pool which we enjoyed using when the heavy rain prevented us from going to the beach and we can't wait to return this year but for a week, two days was to short.
