Staying at Shirma’s was the best decision ever! Shirma is so friendly and welcoming, and happy to help with anything you need. She does airport pick up and drop offs, weekly trips to the supermarket, and if you are a medical student, daily drops to the hospital. The apartment was very clean and well stocked, had AC in the bedroom and fans in the living room and kitchen. There is a beautiful seating area outside in the garden, where we sit for Sunday lunch courtesy of Shirma! Shirma also lended us a local phone and gave us numbers for taxis. The Bacolet area is safe and nice to walk around, and the beach is only a 10 minute walk away. Would highly recommend Shirma’s to anyone staying in Tobago!

I stayed at Shirma and Clifford's Apartment for 6 weeks whilst on my medical elective at Scarborough Hospital and I couldn't have asked for better hosts or a better place to stay!

The apartment itself was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped - There was air con provided in the bedroom, fans, a washing machine, double bed and a fully equipped kitchen. There was an outside seating area and sun loungers which was great for socialising - there was a big group of us who always sat out there before nights out or just to relax. About 15 minutes walk away is a local beach behind Bacolet Beach Club.

They offered us free transport to the hospital every morning and took us to the supermarket once a week for our weekly shopping. Shirma was a fantastic cook and made us Sunday lunch every week.

We were provided with a local phone and a list of contacts that helped us plan taxi drivers and trips/ tours across the island.

Overall, I would recommend Tobago and Shirma's apartments to anyone - Shirma and Clifford made us feel like family. I always felt safe and well looked after.

Thank you for everything

I stayed at one of Shirma's apartments for 4 weeks during my medical elective.

Shirma and Clifford were fantastic hosts and made me feel at home straight away. They gave us a lift to the hospital every morning and a lift every week to do our weekly food shopping- this meant that I could cook at the apartment and wasn't spending a lot at restaurants on the island.

The apartment itself was modern and fully equipped with everything I needed. The bed was super comfy and there was good AC! The location was also great- just a 10 minute walk from the local beach where we spent many afternoons after the hospital placement.

It was clear that Shirma and Clifford had good experience with hosting elective students- they were able to give me ideas on how to make the most of my time on the beautiful island, and even advice on which taxi drivers were the best for different things.

From a social point of view- I went on my medical elective alone, however there were 6 other medical students staying at Shirma's apartments so I was never alone! Shirma also made a fantastic meal every sunday lunch!

I couldn't recommend Shirma's Apartments any more and thanks again for the fantastic stay!

Stayed at Shirma and Clifford's apartments for 6 weeks while on a medical elective at Scarborough General Hospital. Couldn't have asked for more. The two of them look after everyone staying at the apartment and the rooms are well furnished and spacious. They are more than happy to help when it comes to organising trips and they gave us some very useful contacts.

Would recommend to anyone, especially students on medical electives. Sociable place to stay and you are well looked after by the Wilson's.

Thank you very much.

I stayed at Shirma's apartments for a total of 6 weeks for my medical elective placement in Tobago. Shirma is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and is a great host and amazing cook.

The apartment I stayed in is very spacious and modern. It is equipped with everything you will need to stay including fans and air conditioning and there is loads of storage space for luggage. If you need anything you just ask Shirma and she can get it for you. Outside there is an amazing seating area for hanging out with everyone else staying at the apartments. It is also only a short walk to a few nice beaches for days when you don't feel like going further afield. all the apartments have double beds but they also have a few single beds that can be added to some of the rooms.

In terms of the medical placement you are offered free lifts into the hospital every morning which is incredibly useful. You also get free transport to and from the Supermarket once per week which is good as they can be quite a distance away without a car.

Shirma also knows loads of contacts around the island from taxi drivers to tour guides and will help facilitate almost anything that you could want to do in Tobago.

Shirma's is the perfect place to stay if you are travelling in small groups and having stayed there I don't know why you would want to stay anywhere else.
