Stayed here with my Uncle and family last month. How I wish they had seen these reports first. BAD ATTITUDE! They treat Trinis like dirt. I love Tobago and have stayed at several place, but never been treated with such contempt and rudeness before. They think all Trinis are thieves. Like other people, we were also put in rooms in a different building a long way away on a very noisy main road. Really bad. I feel so sorry for my Uncle who tried so hard to give us a great family holiday.

The website for Spence was quite misleading. There is more than one location. I thought in had booked for the store bay local road location only to be told upon check- in that a car would be coming to pick me up to take me to the other location. I chose this location because of the distance to the airport and in had friends and family staying close by. I reserved 3 rooms and stayed in two with another couple in our party as one person cancelled last minute.

I was given a voucher for the unused room that was reserved and will not be using it... I'd rather count that money as lost than stay there again.

The rooms are basic which would be fine if they were kept well... the rooms were poorly maintained (I took photos) and had a foul odor. I was not pleased.

After about 40 minutes of us being in our room our driver (very kind guy) offered to move us to another location but it was even further away from the rest of our group staying on store bay local, road (they stayed at crooks)... we actually ended up bunking in one of their rooms for the night.

The next morning the receptionist at the main location said they would send a car to pick us up so we could check out... we waited over half hour they said he was 5 min away and ended up just paying for a taxi to take us there to check out.

Overall experience was poor.

My friends and I stayed at Spence Resort in Store Bay local road.

Our room had a very bad smell. AC didn't work properly.

Low hygiene in the apartment. Dirty smelly carpets, dirty bathroom.

Use of the pool is only allowed until 6 pm.

The only good thing in that place is a white guy with a strange name and accent who works there.

Handsome, friendly and very helpful guy who made our stay more pleasant.

Despite everything we had a great fun in Tobago.

We stayed at Spence, apartments were not very clean. The bed was uncomfortable, the bed head was detached, the pool was not available to use, staff friendly. Won't stay there again.

My fiance and I spent three days at Spence Resort. We'd read a lot of decent reviews about the place, and decided to give it a try. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and the room was fine; cosy, clean and well-outfitted. My only complaint regarding the room was that the air conditioning conked out on our last day there, and so we had to open all the doors and windows to keep the room from getting too hot. The pool area was clean and completely satisfactory, until the third day of our stay, during which the sounds coming from the adjoining bar became very loud. Every single word uttered in the bar area (Shutter's) was audible in the pool, including the expletives and uncensored music. My fiance and I decided not to make a fuss, as our stay was to be short, but I sympathized with families with young children who might be coming.
