sea condition in rainy season

Post by Simone Subal »

Hi,

We are planning a trip to Tobago beginning to mid August. I heard that some beaches (especially the Castara beach, where we are hoping to stay) gets murky and quite dirty. Is that true? In general, does the water condtion change significantly during this period and if yes, what are the best places to be?

Thanks for your advice.

Simone

Some areas of the coast around Tobago have become murky from time to time in recent years due to a combination of heavy rains and roadworks/landscaping.

Castara is fine.

There is still a little roadworking near Charlottesville ... but I sense everything has returned to normal elsewhere ... the recent dry season has been very dry.

I have not been to Tobago for over a year so perhaps others may like to comment on anything they have seen.
