A Message For Seasoned Tobago Travellers

We have a request on behalf of the Drummers of Tobago who have qualified for the opportunity to represent T&T in the Drumfest in August 2006 in Hollywood.
Some of you may have seen these young men perform around the different hotels they are true Tobagonians and would love to represent their country unfortunately they are struggling to raise funds to enable them to perform.
Have any of you readers any ideas to enable them to raise their profile and achieve their dreams.We have been trying desperately to help them but to no avail we would appreciate any suggestion you may have which we can follow up.If any of you readers want anymore information please contact us and we would be happy to help.

This sounds like an ideal opportunity for tourism and business interests on Tobago to sponsor the group and achieve publicity in the States and further afield.

How about approaching the major hotels, car hire firms etc. (see this website for contact details) and of course the Minister for tourism and development.

Surely, the THA would wish to fund an overseas visit, by a group of artistes and ambassadors of Tobago, to promote their cultural and ethnic roots and encourage their young people to maintain their cultural identity.
