I stayed at Porridge's place for two weeks in December and having visited Castara on various previous occasions I can thoroughly recommend it as an alternative liming experience. Everything you need for a self catering apartment is provided, it is clean, well furnished, and there is air conditioning for those times when it's just too hot to sleep. Porridge and Jeanell are lovely people and you will be treated as part of the family, you really couldn't ask for better hosts. Although there is no direct view of the sea, it's only a 10 minute walk down the road to the beach (although the walk back up the hill takes a little longer!). The feeders around the balcony attract lots of birds during the day, and also lots of bats when it gets dark if you leave anything out. Nothing quite like relaxing in the hammock with a cold carib (or two) whilst hummingbirds and bananaquits buzz around you. Wish I was still there actually...
