We stayed at Porridges place two weeks in February 2012. And we enjoyed every minute! The apartment is meticulously clean and equipped with everything you need (and more). The porch outside is a great place for breakfast, watching the birds that come to feed, or dinner by candlelight and the sounds of frogs, crickets, music and soft voices from the surroundings. There is a 10 minutes walk down to the village centre and the beaches. The walk uphill takes a little longer and is more sweaty, but coming ”home” to the apartment is a reward. On the way uphill you may stop at the local fruit seller to buy some delicious bananas or a papaya or a pineapple for the evening´s desert. And the walk is a good exercise if you have spent a number of hours doing nothing more than lie on the beach or soak in the sea.

Jeanell and Porridge, and their two children, are people that you want to meet again - warm, friendly, knowledgable, supportive. Everything, big or small, was was taken care of with a smile: airport transfers, tours, the booking of an excellent guide for the rain forest, bread for breakfast when our supply from the local clay owen had run out, beer for the dinner when we found the fridge empty, fresh fish for dinner (and accessories to cook it with) when we had planned for something less exciting.

Porridges is a place you want to come back to!
