My wife and I just got back from Tobago where we spent a week at the Hummingbird Hotel and diving on the local reefs around Crown Point. We used MyTobagoinfo's website to learn all about Tobago and to choose a hotel and dive operator. We initially chose other hotels for their proximity to other dive sites a the other end of the Island, but we were turned off by the lack of the ability to reserve a room with a credit card. This was fortuitous as the other dive sites were extremely rough and we were much happier diving in the calmer waters around Crown Point. In any case we located the Hummingbird among others and emailed Linda the proprietor. We immediately received a reply that there was room and we could book the reservation by credit card. We booked a couple of days and off we went. The hotel was very convenient to the airport and town as well as the dive operator. While not on the beach it has a very nice pool. Paul the manager was very helpful the first few days in informing us about all the information one needs to know when landing in a new country and there after for the matter. One main reason that we chose the Hummingbird was that it had some suites that contained small kitchens as we wished to cook most of our own meals. We moved up to the second floor on the second day and went shopping at the local markets where you could get most of anything you might want to eat. On the other hand the Hotel has a good sized restaurant and Paul will cook breakfast and lunch and dinner upon request. The Hummingbird was very clean, everything worked and was well kept up. We felt super secure. Once again it is not on he beach but is convenient to everywhere, the price was right and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
