Footprints Eco Resort was exactly what we needed to feel instant relaxation! We were looking into taking a trip but something not too commercial or "big box" and our good friends recommended it to us. After hearing they stories and looking at their photos we decided to see it for ourselves. The flight from Toronto, On. Canada was only a few hours to Trinidad and a few more minutes (flight) to Tobago. The Footprints shuttle bus picked us up from the Airport and away from the city we drove! The drive was great, not too far from the city (if you do need to pick something up) and scenery just got better and better as we got closer to the resort. Very lush with greenery - large tress, colourful flowers and winding roads up a small mountain. This resort is an oasis for anyone looking for a private getaway as a couple (without all the glam/money grabbers) or a great place to "lime" with your close friends and family.
The staff were very courteous and caring of our needs, food/drink were excellent and fresh and our room was very clean/comfortable. (There were different Villas or rooms you could book depending on what you required - kitchen/separate rooms and very cleverly constructed from recycled or re-used materials, ie. old telephone poles for beams)
We vividly remember feeling like we had already been there for a week on our first day - stress free and complete relaxation.
This is our new "home away from home".
