The guesthouse was near the end of a laneway in the middle of the village of Black Rock. We had the spacious 2-bedroom apt on the ground floor at the back of the house for four nights! Amenities were great (e.g. air conditioning, kitchen supplies, fridge ...) except that we had difficulty with the t.v. remote control. The guesthouse is in a very peaceful setting with a beautiful garden. You will quickly get used to the roosters and bird calls in the early morning. The birds coming to the feeder were a treat for us as we never had seen such a variety of colours. The sound of the steel pan practices in the evenings was nice.

We didn't have a car but were able to get around by foot or by taxi. Elizabeth had organized for a driver to pick us up at the airport when we arrived. Maggie greeted us when we arrived at the guesthouse and went over things (telephone numbers, security, keys for the gate, air conditioner ...) with us.

It was all easy going. One of the best parts of our short 4-day holiday was the driver/guide services of Peter Alfred who Elizabeth recommended. He is just full of great information – agriculture, birds, history … - about the island and knows quite a few people. He drove us on a one-day tour of the island going through or stopping at Plymouth, Castara, Englishman's Bay, Charlotteville, Parlatuvier, Speyside … and coming back on the south side of Tobago.

We were with our 2 teenage daughters who thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The fact that the beaches are a 10-minute walk away was a big plus. We have very pleasant memories and would recommend this guesthouse!
