We spent a week at Birdie's Nest with our four year old daughter and couldn't have had a better time. We like to travel independently, cook our own meals, buy produce at the local store, and stay in communities that feel 'local'--and yet we like some of the amenities available at a resort; a great beach, a well-maintained pool, a safe and secure dwelling, and responsive hosts committed to customer service. All of this is available at Birdie's Nest. The suite was simple but well-equipped and very clean. We made frequent use of the gas grill on site, and spent long days going between the pool and beach.

Prince is gentle, kind and a joy to talk to. He has a wealth of worldly experience and great sense of pride in his business and family history. He manages the place professionally and attends to the fine details necessary to keep an independently owned guesthouse in good order year-round. He responded to our questions and went above and beyond what we thought was necessary. He can help you to order in meals; hire a driver; and help arrange/suggest sight-seeing around the island.

You can stay here without a vehicle, but should know that there are not a lot of restaurant/bar options in the immediate vicinity. Grafton Beach and Pleasant Prospect are within walking distance and have good food/drink options, but are 15 and 25 minutes to walk to.

The neighbourhood feels safe and walking is relatively comfortable (safe, and not busy, but no sidewalks). The locals are very friendly and will know you are one of Prince's guests.

We will definitely visit again!
