Our holiday in Tobago was an absolute delight! As promised, we were met at the airport and on the way to Birdies Nest, Cecil our driver took us to a supermarket for essential shopping. On arrival at Birdies Nest, we were met by Prince Robinson and he and Cecil took our luggage up to our apartment. From that point onwards throughout the holiday, Prince was most attentive and outstandingly helpful with advice, transport, car rental, replacement of gas cylinders and with his mother Princess Robinson, superb housekeeping.

The apartment was fully equipped, immaculately clean and with a balcony ideal for rum punch sundowners and sun bathing on the sun beds and towels provided for our use. The pool was great for cooling off and with the Caribbean coming up to the property wall, a most relaxing vista met our sight from morning to night. Air-conditioned bedrooms and lounge/kitchen ensured we had a good night's rest and comfortable environment to sit and read or watch a movie in the late evening.

We walked often on the two beaches at Stonehaven Bay and Great Courland Bay, both easily accessible to Birdies Nest. On our last night, Prince called and enthusiastically invited us to go the Courland Beach, also known as Turtle beach, to sea a Leatherback Turtle laying her eggs and returning to the sea. This was a sight we never expected to see given the early season but through his association with the local turtle watch organisation, Prince made that possible.

Prince is a great tour guide! He spent quite some time with us indicating places to visit on Tobago and with the Suzuki Jimny, we explored them all. Be aware of the roads in Tobago many of which are potholed and not maintained. This led to some interesting and entertaining driving!

On our last day, we were able to stay in and around Birdies Nest and we experienced Prince and Princess carrying out a clean of our apartment in readiness for new occupants. We have never seen such a thorough job! Everything, we mean everything, was either moved or taken out of the cupboard and fridge and cleaned. Prince set a standard that should be emulated everywhere.

As arranged, Cecil came to collect us on time for the airport. Both the transfer journeys were complimentary.

We were sad to leave and we vowed we would be back!
