We (family, two girls 8 and 11 years) had a fantastic stay in Castara Cottage. We felt really at home - it couldn´t be better. Everything was well prepared and we were welcomed very warmly by Adam, the manager, who took care about us the whole time.
Castara is a nice little village and we loved it with all its smells, colours and sounds. For Castara Cottage is a wooden building with no window-glasses, you probably will hear some of the typical sounds of a small village like the cock in the morning. And you will hear and smell the sea! The Cottage has got very good beds, so we were sleeping like babies. Every afternoon we were buying fresh fish directly on the beach which is really nearby just down the hill. We had great fish-dinners on "our" terrace, which offers a maximum of privacy. There are wonderful plants around it and we enjoyed watching the birds in the morning and the bats at night.
Castara Cottage is nothing for people who need luxurious amenities in a pampered environment, but if you are looking for a place, were you can feel a piece of real caribbean life - just go there. You will find everything you need in a peaceful shabby-chic atmosphere.
