Jonsey's place is a beautiful retreat, out of the way, in an extremely friendly little town. We had just been in Charlotteville, where there were a number of guys trying to hustle tourists. In contrast, everyone we met in Pembroke seemed genuinely friendly. We had some very satisfying swims at the beach down the road, which we had to ourselves. The guest house itself was immensely comfortable. We were there in the off season, so we had the whole floor to ourselves (there were two bedrooms with a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom, so you might end up with some new friends, or it would be a perfect place to stay if you had a small group). The views out the back were lovely, and the breakfast was tasty, if a little small. There is a veggie shop at the end of the driveway, and a small dry goods store just down the road. Between the two of them, we got ingredients for all our meals at very good prices. Pembroke is well situated for exploring the southern coast, a few minutes from the rainbow and argyle waterfalls, and not far to Speyside, if you are looking for some underwater adventure. I highly recommend Ms Jonse's place for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.
