Staying at Shirma's apartments led to the best Tobago experience I could have possibly asked for. Being an elective student, she went far and beyond to ensure that we had the most comfortable stay, from driving us to the hospital every morning, to taking us for a weekly shop, and cooking us Sunday lunch.

Shirma and Clifford (her husband) showcased kindness, warmth and care - if there ever was a problem, they wanted to be the first to know. They educated us of the local cuisine, music, history and culture, all of which contributed heavily to my wonderful experience of Tobago.

During our trip to Trinidad, Shirma stayed in regular contact, ensuring that we were well and safe throughout the Carnival period. As much as we loved Trinidad, we became homesick after leaving her place, and so, we returned for the tail end of our elective.
