I stayed in one of Shirma's apartments for my medical elective at Scarborough General Hospital, along with 5 other students. I had an apartment to share with one other student, with a huge kitchen/living area (perfect for film nights and drinks), massive bed and en-suite bathroom, all air-conditioned and comfortable. We got free lifts to hospital every morning at 7.30, driven for food shopping every Monday and contact numbers for friendly and reasonable taxi drivers for other excursions. Shirma made us feel at home, and made us wonderful lunches every Sunday! Her home and garden is beautiful, with beaches a 10-15 min walk away. Staying with other students was so much fun and a great way to meet people and organise activities. The prices were reasonable and student-friendly. I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend my elective.
