Myself and 3 friends stayed at Shirma's apartments for 5 weeks for our medical elective and had the best time! Shirma and Clifford are incredibly kind, warm and helpful, and them living on site made us feel safe right from the start. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were all happy and safe - organising taxis, arranging tours, and even driving us to get take-away food when we couldn't be bothered cooking! They also organise free transport to the hospital every morning and to the shops every Monday. We were even given a local phone so that we could phone taxis for getting home which came in so handy.
The apartments are great - we stayed in the more recently built 2 bedroom one and it was very spacious . We also loved the cabana out the front for chilling in/eating Shirma's delicious Sunday lunches.
There is a hotel 15 mins walk away that allows medical students to use the facilities, so we spent loads of time there.
Shirma's is also great because its a great way to meet other students on their elective and we had so much fun as a big group!
I can't speak highly enough of Shirma and her lovely family, and would definitely recommend staying with her. Plus, Tobago is a beautiful Island with lots to explore!
