Well what can we say....paradise!

Seriously feedback as follows:
1) LOCATION - we stayed at coconut heights, the 1st floor apartment of the Beach House which is probably the best location in the Heavenly bay area, fantastic views, easily accessible unless disabled or someone with restricted mobility. The local bar serves great food and their Weds evening Bongo drum night is a MUST to attend however it does go on late so be prepared for a late night/early morning. Cheno's cafe in the village serves a fab breakfast and has free Wi-Fi so emails can be collected. The locals are welcoming and extremely friendly. We would advise car hire to be able to explore, alternatively there is public transport two hourly that goes to Scarborough. The shop at the top of the road/hill offers everyday supplies and fresh Tuna can be purchased at 3pm daily from the fish market, other fish such as Mahi mahi, red snapper and kingfish are available a little later subject to the days catch.
2) The Apartment: probably the best appointed apartment we have stayed in. Very much a home from home, a good cooker, fridge/freezer, bbq, plenty of dishes and utensil. Seating comfort is limited but understandably so as due to the nature of the apartment needs to be waterproof. We were adopted by a local cat and were escorted on our first visit to the village by a friendly dog! Every morning we put fruit and sugar water out for the birds and had some fabulous visitors including some wonderful bats at night and early morning.
3) Downfalls : if you react badly to sandfly bites take antihistamines with you, the nearest chemist is in Scarborough and their supply of drugs is limited. Take ear plugs, the Cockerels start calling no later than 3am with dogs barking also. Castara retreats Fine Dining Restaurant is NOT fine dining as we know it in the UK however get a taxi or hire a car and visit The Deck at Bucco, Curtis Duke runs a fabulous restaurant which offers the best food on the Island (Curtis has extensive industry experience having spent time at Raymond Blancs Le Manoir des quatre saisons amongst other establishments). Also try the Seahorse and Watermill restaurants. The area is very quiet, so if you like clubs, shops and being busy this is not for you.
