This accommodation was a little too rustic for our taste and probably a little over priced for what we got. No AC, lots of mosquitos (even burning the coils), an old wooden building, and a noisy bar next door. We stayed in the middle six's unit downstairs. There was a minimal kitchen. This place is very hard to find and down a steep hill. The town doesn't have much in the way of eating places, maybe because we were out of season! On the positive side, the ocean was just steps away. Oh yea, you have to have a phone to contact the landlord who was nice, but on the other side of town.

We were very sorry to hear these guests weren’t satisfied. We have very high standards of customer service and are very disappointed if guests don’t enjoy their stay, as most do. Beach House, and indeed Castara, is not for everyone - it is a charming wooden house next to the beach with 3 apartments; the studios each have a small but well equipped kitchenette. There is no AC or telephone - a perfect getaway from it all. We feel that all the information on our website, along with the photographs, are a true reflection of what we have to offer. We’re sorry they had difficulty finding the house - we usually provide directions if guests don’t request a pick up, and apologise if this did not happen in this case. Castara is a very small fishing village and the manager who lives nearby is actually very close. We regret they seem to have had difficulty contacting him.

I’d also like to address the comments these guests made about the bar next door. Just to clarify, there is a bar on Little Bay but it is about 70 yards or more away from Beach House and the only other building on the beach. It is a small family run restaurant that has a drums night on a Wednesday which can be quite lively. We encourage our guests to go and join in and soak up a bit of the local culture. We are sorry these guests didn't appreciate this and reiterate that Beach House and Castara is not for everyone.
