The apartment is clean, simple and functional and bang on the beautiful sandy beach, but with a hedge for privacy. The verandah is the perfect place to eat with its view of the bay and the birds, lizards and, at night, bats coming to feed from the feeders.
However, it wouldn’t be for everyone: It is not luxurious and nor is it quiet with the waves, the laughing gulls, the dogs, the infamous cockerels and the Boathouse Bar opposite (excellent food, drink and service but Wednesday drumming night runs until late),
You are in the middle of a working fishing village whose inhabitants are friendly, helpful and very tolerant of tourists, staying in the most perfect place, most cheerfully managed by Porridge and his wife, Jeanell, on the most stunningly beautiful and unspoilt island in the Caribbean. Accept that, and you are likely to become yet another of the many many visitors who come back right here again and again.
