For those that want to be as close to the beach as possible .. there is no other place! We were in Palm Corner for the second time in two years. Our favorite part of the day was sitting on our private porch, after enjoying the day in the sand and sea, snorkeling and wading for sea glass and swimming, watching the nightly sunsets, which brought a flurry of hummingbirds to our feeders. Castara is a small fishing village, but has all you could need to enjoy this piece of paradise. A small grocery and fish market at Big Bay. Fresh bread from clay ovens available 3 times a week. Restaurants serving some of the best foods I've ever had! For us, the month long stay did not seem enough. Rarely did we leave Castara. We walked to Englishmans Bay for a day. About an hour over some very steep roads. Getting to Castara Falls is very manageable along a path next to the river. A snorkeling tour with a BBQ at No Mans Land was a fun filled afternoon. And a bar tour around the North side of the island occupied one evening. Heavenly Bay has the peace and tranquility to occupy your days.
A bit more about the studio .. the queen bed surrounded by netting is quit comfortable. An outdoor shower to rinse sand and salt water and a warm water indoor shower. The kitchen has all you need to prepare meals, snacks or keep fresh the take away foods from local places. For us ... this is the perfect place to experience Castara and the Tobagan culture.
