Our one-week stay at Villa Iguana in March of 2008 was all that we had hoped for and more. The location is perfectly situated to walk to all sorts of dining, groceries, and beaches...the view completely amazed us...an almost unobstructed view of the Caribbean with waves crashing into rocks directly beneath the villa. The porch and wide private deck were great for lounging away the hours and enjoying sunsets. Of course, we enjoyed watching the ever-present iguanas too! Inside we found the apartments to be simple, clean, efficient...perfect for a no-frills vacation...the only complication being that we ran out of gas one evening while cooking dinner. There was a fridge and stove in each apartment, two beds in one, with a floor cot, one bed and a folding couch in the smaller apartment. Everything else worked wonderfully...the main bedroom was air-conditioned and we used the fan in the front bedroom...it did become humid at night with the doors all shut, but was expected. The only down-side found was a drunk living next door that daily pestered us for drinks and money...security was minimal, though there was a gate at the back of the Villa's fence.

Gus, the manager, picked us up at the airport and was very patient and helpful with making travel arrangements otherwise. We also rented a vehicle from him to tour the island for several days. He prefers to be contacted by email it seems.

The Fish Pot and Harlequin restaurants nearby provided very affordable and excellent dining...we frequented each for the week that we stayed at the Villa and enjoyed the company of many other regulars who had been coming for years.

We certainly had a great, affordable stay at the Villa Iguana, and hope to visit again!
