Blue Mango's See Steps Cottage is a secluded paradise for those seeking a true eco-adventure without sacrificing modern comforts. Located on the windward side of the island and perched on the side of cliff, you are treated to beautiful ocean views, astonishing sunsets and refreshing sea breezes. You wake up to a morning chorus of songbirds, and your very private daily commune with nature begins anew. The open kitchen gives way to the large covered deck, so you can enjoy morning coffee [some of the world’s best here], afternoon tea or evening cocktails while being visited by the beautiful resident blue-crowned motmots, hummingbirds, and many of Tobago’s other 400-plus species of birds. Two converging sets of stairs [thus the name: sea steps] lead down to your private beach in what locals use to refer to as “lovers’ cove.” If you swim around the rock barrier on the right you find yourself in another slightly larger cove [great for snorkeling] and Little Beach, with its Boat House, an idyllic tropical bar serving killer rum punch and live music every Wednesday. Go passed the rock barrier to your left and your on Castera’s main beach, where you can buy fresh fish from the fishing village’s daily catch. If you do find you want to explore more of Tobago’s best, you’re only a short drive away from gorgeous Englishman’s Bay and the World’s oldest preserved rainforest, and Colin, your delightful host at Blue Mango, is always quietly in the background, standing ready to assist to make your sojourn a rewarding and memorable adventure.
