We are just coming to the end of our idyllic stay at the stunning Villa de Lena in Bon Accord,Tobago, preparing to the return to the cold of the UK.
Villa de Lena is set in the most beautiful grounds, tended by a team of dedicated gardeners who seem to work from dawn to dusk to keep it all so perfect.
From the moment that you step through the door of Villa de Lena to be welcomed by the lovely Velma, the housekeeper, it is obvious that you have been given the privilege of staying in a much loved family home.
With its own pool, you can choose to either spend your time relaxing in the wonderful peace and tranquillity of the Villa, which I must admit we did for most of our stay or visit one of the main beaches nearby, for example Pigeon Point or Store Bay, both of which are in close proximity to the Villa, great for a early evening swim.
There are many convenience stores nearby, the main one being Penny Savers where you can purchase all that you will need for your stay.
If you decide to tear yourself away from this wonderful Villa to explore the Island and eat out there are numerous restaurants to choose from or you can spend your evenings relaxing around the pool with the barbecue.
Villa de Lena has everything that you could possibly need.
The Villa is also a perfect venue for weddings with its own pavilion for a truly memorable wedding.
If anyone is planning to get married in Tobago then this is where they should be heading.
There is a wedding going ahead this Easter weekend and the gardeners have been working all hours to make sure that everything is perfect.
The owner of the Villa, Mervyn Sifontes and his lovely partner Eva really do go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one.
We are regular visitors to Tobago and have stayed in various hotels and apartments ranging from budget to the more salubrious but this stay has been by far the best.
I doubt very much that it can be surpassed and we hope to visit again in the near future.
Thank you Mervyn and Eva, for allowing us to take possession of your truly wonderful home for a precious two week vacation.
A jewel in the crown of Tobago!
Paula and Wendell Grosvenor.
