The Ambassador’s House is a wonderful haven of tranquillity, up above where it all happens on Tobago. Views of the Caribbean and Atlantic are spectacular and the wild-life, in particular the birds, around the house is nothing short of revelatory for European visitors. The care-taker has the groundsmen and everything else under control, and her cooking is really worth sampling. Shopping for different food and cooking it oneself is of course also fun.

Apparently we were lucky with the dry weather this November. A car is essential and not as cheap as it might be, even from the characterful ‘Lady in Red....our boat trip over the reef was great, the deserted beaches inviting however not essential to a holiday when the accomodation is so pleasurable
