Funny fruit

Hi all,

I came by this fruit last time i was in Tobago....i can't figure out what it is called, have searched the entire internet without any result, so now i'll try here :D

I found it in the rainforest....any suggestions?

I reckon someone has cunningly prepared a set of plantanes, arranged them accordingly and then plonked a dried up half citrus in the middle to make it look like a flower and planted it in the rainforest before you went on your amazing tour :mrgreen:

Hi,
I've heard a few names for this tree. In Trinidad it's called Scotch Attorney. In Tobago I've heard the tree called Monkey Apple.
I've seen this tree listed in the T&T Field Naturalists Book on Trees (not the actual name of the book!).....I'll look it up when I'm at Environment Tobago offices.

It is indeed Scotch Attorney or the signature plant,Clusia rosea.

I have seen this in gardens all over the Island and I believe it is in the Botanical garden in Scarborough
