Kapinjala is an absolutely stunning Villa. With only one reservation it is possibly the best accommodation I have found on the island (of about 7). The house is immaculate; the design ideal, the fixtures and fittings all decadent. No expense has been spared in the importing of high end plumbing fixtures and appliances.

The view of Buccoo reef over the infinity pool is truly stunning. Most evenings found us sipping cocktails in the Jacuzzi watching the sunset, brilliant.

The hot meal on arrival with the stocked fridge and bottle of rum punch was greatly appreciated and was a first for us. Most rentals offer empty cupboards and complimentary baking soda. Condiments etc are left from one guest to the next which is a nice touch.

The Arnos Vale hotel is a bit of a dive but the tennis court made for a few fun evenings. The court is nestled in a shaded forest and early afternoon tennis could be played at a nice cool temperature.

Our only real reservation on this facility revolved around the age of our children and the steep high walls surrounding the house and pool. I am not sure if young children and cliff side houses will ever be a perfect match. Perhaps we’ll return when the kids are older.

Natalie the maid is a quiet hard working soul but dont be afraid to give her a little guidance if you’d prefer that she focus he efforts on other things.
