My family had the pleasure of spending a week at Carpe Diem in April, 2017. Castara Bay has two beaches within a five minute walk, each with a “boathouse”, serving food, soft drinks and beer, with a third beach, Englishman’s Bay, a couple miles up the road. The village has a nice selection of restaurants and the people are very friendly and helpful.

The guest house is designed to allow an open living area facing the bay, fronted by a large deck with an excellent view of the bay and several birdfeeders attracting a large variety of birds with colorful plumage, and a perfect place to put your feet up, and read a good book with the sounds of the ocean and the jungle in the background. Owners Yvonne and Chris were wonderful hosts, guiding us to the best spots in the village for food and entertainment – not to be missed are the drum ensemble, and the steel drum performances at a number of venues.

It was a great week at a very attractive place.
