Everything was as expected and a very good value for the accommodations provided. We don’t have anything at all negative to say about our stay and we would not hesitate to return here on our next visit to Tobago. We are not high maintenance visitors and we do not require a lot of “extras” and the accommodations were just perfect for us as a self sufficient couple wanting a comfortable, safe, convenient and quiet place to stay. We are not the “resort” type of visitors and prefer a more self sufficient / apartment environment where we can care for ourselves as though we were at home. Claudia made us feel very welcome and provided all the comforts of home to include some amenities that we don’t usually get in other Caribbean islands. Again, we were not expecting, nor did we want to be “pampered” during our vacation and we were pleasantly satisfied with everything provided for us. TV, AC, sheets, towels, hot and cold water, refrigerator, stove, oven, utensils and most important for us a coffee pot, were all perfectly acceptable. The room (detached apartment from the main home) has its own private entrance and a shared patio, although most of our time was spent exploring the island instead of staying at the apartment. The apartment was a private house with a very pleasant garden atmosphere with lots of plants, trees and birds to adorn the yard. The accommodations are not adjacent to the beach (not walking distance), but we did not expect nor did we need to be there since we had our own rental car. The apartment was still close enough to Crown Point to make a quick run back or forth by car for anything we may have forgotten or for lunch. The house is gated but access in and out was a simple process of swinging the gate aside to let us (and the car) out each day. The house was also close enough to the local “Penny Savers” grocery store to walk there if needed, but far enough off the main road to keep noise to a minimum. We felt very safe there and we still had our own key. As we desired, we handled our own laundry and dishes etc and a shared clothes washer was provided outside (with an outside fresh air clothes line) which was perfectly acceptable. Our host, Claudia, picked us up at the airport upon arrival (nearby) and drove us and all our luggage to the apartment. She also provided a pleasant surprise of fresh juice in the refrigerator and some pastries for the first morning’s breakfast. She accommodated our sudden change in travel plans when we were push back a week due to flight cancelations. She was very helpful in with finding activities and giving us hints and suggestions for places to go and things to see. She also coordinated the rental car and a jeep safari for us which was above what was expected. She does have some very friendly pets (a couple very passive dogs and a sociable cat), but we welcomed the company and wagging tails when we arrived after hours greeting us at the gate. We recommend her place for anyone that has similar travel requirements and we are sure your stay will be enjoyable. Thanks for the stay Claudia.
