My wife and I stayed for seven wonderful nights at Boatview in February 2009. The spectacular water views through the trees made you feel like you were in a treehouse. The rooms were clean and everything inside functioned well - showers, gas stove, large fridge, etc. At first we were worried about the absence of air conditioning, but it turned out to be quite pleasant. The apartments are shaded from direct sun by the trees and our room had a big fan that kept the air circulating and comfortable. What also struck us was how few insects there were at that time (dry season, although it was unseasonably wet). We were able to keep the doors to the deck open all day and night without a problem. Of course, the bed had a mosquito net but the point is that the room did not fill with bugs. Heavenly Bay (or Little Bay), where Boatview is located, is the nicer of Castara's two bays. Best of all was Sharon Taylor who gladly helped us with anything we needed. We plan to return.
