We found Blue Tanager on the MyTobago website and booked it for 8 nights from January 4 - 12, 2012. We arrived by the fast ferry and were met by the caretaker, Gus. The house is a stunning property, situated in Mount Irvine. Five spacious bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and individual air conditioning and safes. Four of the bedrooms have direct access to the lovely pool and large patio area the fifth bedroom has direct access to the back porch, which overlooks the gardens and the bird feeder which soon became the focus of our attention. The open concept living - dining area is very spacious with beamed cathedral ceilings. The best feature of this amazing property is the gardens which are meticulously tended by Anthony, the gardener. The maid, Sarah, came in during the week, did the laundry and cleaned and tidied - did a great job.

General Comments: Outstanding property, great location with easy access to everywhere once you have a car. The Mount Irvine fish market is only a five minute walk with fresh fish whenever the boats come in – usually every afternoon around 4 pm. Good security but many keys to deal with - made it somewhat confusing as some were not labeled. Ideal property for a large party (we had 9). Kitchen was well equipped however there is no dishwasher which was a downside since 9 people generate lots of dirty dishes! There were some minor glitches eg: the cable television did not work while we were there and while we thought that we would not miss having internet access, we found that we were having to go out and locate hotspots to access essential things such as airline check ins and locate restaurants, etc. We appreciated the library of books - everyone made use of them especially the 'Birds of Trinidad & Tobago' many of whom visited the feeder. The only unwelcome visitors were the Cocricos at 5:00am, but we got used to them too!

Overall: We were very satisfied with our visit and would recommend this property to other visitors to Tobago. Would like to note, however, that we were the first large group to rent this property and there were some minor management issues that need to be worked out - however, these did not detract from our enjoyment of the property or Tobago.
