My partner & I stayed at the Turtle Beach the last 2 weeks in April I can't understand how & why people have been so negative in the past, we had a fantastic time been back just over a week & wish I was still there.

The hotel certainly isn't the most plush of hotels I've stayed in but location wise you cannot ask for more, we stayed in the new part of the hotel on the 3rd floor with an amazing view over the garden & beach when I woke up the 1st morning at 6am & saw our view I was amazed. The rooms are basic but cleaned every day & fresh towels left, how much time do you spend in your room anyway.

We stayed on an A.I basis and we had no problems at all with the food, there was always plenty of it & plenty of choice lots of fresh fruit available & you can still order off the a la carte FOC if you are A.I. I do think the hotel is a little under staffed which sometimes makes the service a little slow but I have to say the majority of the staff were great & really friendly. We did go a out a few times & if you are eating out I'd definately go back to the Golden Star for the lobster however I personally would recommend the A.I option, its easy & you don't have to be pinned down to the resort for the whole 2 weeks.

Who ever stayed at the hotel & said that the brits did't mingle must have been really unlucky, I don't think we have ever been on holiday & mingled so much by the time 2 weeks was up pretty much everyone in the resort seemed to have spoken to each other, plus we made some really good friends who we will be keeping in touch with & have done so already.

We also booked some great trips out with 'Jason from Woody's Tours', they were so friendly & even tailor made a day long boat tour for us where we went fishing, spotted dolphins & saw some fantastic parts of Tobago.

I would definately re visit Tobago & the Rex Turtle Beach again.
