We were sold this hotel as a 3+ by travel value and were only given the option of AI or room only so we took room only as we like to get about and see the local culture and sights of the island.

First impression of the hotel was dissapointing, (bearing in mind the 3+ rating given to us) the room was not in a good condition the bathroom was dirty and the decor very dated, we had booked a double room and had a twin, when we asked the staff if this could be sorted the reply we got was "well just push the beds together" eventually after more requests to sort this out three days later they provided us with a double bed, the room was not cleaned correctly and basic facilities such as coffee tea etc were not replenished ( petty but these things make a difference)

There were CERTAIN members of staff who WERE rude and were lacking in customer service skills and made us feel like we were a hinderance to them as apose to guests. On more than one occassion we had been left messages behind the reception which we did not recieve even after asking if the messages had been left, this made us miss out on two days bike rental.

The rep Michael also told us not to dwell on the hotels negatives and concentrate on the positives almost making out that it was our fault that things were not to our satisfaction. which is fine if the holiday had been sold to us as a 2*

The food was nice but definatly not worth the money they ask for it.

On the plus side, the pool area is lovely, the rooms do have a good sea view, and the watersports staff were friendly, as were one or two of the bar staff.

Our recomendation is you hire transport to see the Island, Sheppys rental at store bay local road was fantastic freindly staff and good value for money.

We found Mount Irvine beach lovely (and not mentioned by our rep,) you can snorkle right off the beach into a fantastic reef much better than Arnos Vale with a great sunset and only 20 minutes walk, 5 minutes drive from Turtle beach.

Pigeon point also is a lovely beach and worth the $18 TT entrance fee.

a drive along the Atlantic side coast road is a must to Speyside where you can get a cheap trip to Little Tobago (birds of paradise island) and snorkle in Angel reef along this road you can get to some of the waterfalls in the rain forest which again are well worth a view. another tour worth doing is the Buccoo reef and the nylon pool (get the tours at the beach not with the reps)

resturant's to visit. the seahorse good food and ambiance, a special mention to Patino's resturant at the Enchanted Waters hotel lovely food excellant service in a very pretty setting, for breakfast you must try the House of Pancakes on Milford road at Crown Point great value for money, freindly staff and lovely food.
