Spent a week at Blue Haven Room 11 in new wing. Well presented room beautiful view. Housekeeping faultless. Hotel in general maintained to a high standard and facilities good.

All staff pleasant and helpfull. Very relaxing atmosphere at this hotel and although fully booked did not experience any overcrowded areas. We were kept waiting quite a while before being taken to our room but Marcia kept us occupied by showing us around - not ideal as our flight was one hour late and all we wanted was to get settled.

Do try the excellent omelettes at breakfast. Just choose your favourite filling and watch it being made before you. A very good selection of food to start the day with. The subdued lighting in the restaurant during the evening meal made it quite difficult to see what was being presented but the food was more than adequate and gave us the opportunity to try some of the local dishes - I really would have liked to have seen all the colours and variety of food I had chosen.

We noted other reviews mentioned locals on the beach playing football, but as with all Caribbean beaches they are not private. Just dont pick a spot to sunbathe on the beach front on a Sunday as they boys will move the sunbeds to set up their mini football nets to play for a couple of hours. Just chill and relax for this small amount of time and enjoy their enthusiasm for sport in the heat. Just remember it is their day off. The rest of the time the beach was ours.

Do make use of the hotel reception taxi booking. Kelly had an amazing car and took us to Scarborough. He met us after our walkabout at the arranged time at the taxi rank opposite the bank and then drove us to see some of the island beauty spots. Very reasonable rate as with all taxis on the island.

Just ask at reception if you want to tour the island. They can sort it for you.

Although we asked every day if it would be possible to have our room check out extended no definite answer was forthcoming and alas it was not granted due to the hotel being fully booked. The reception and bar area are cool and comfortabl if waiting.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for the those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday offering good service, food, rooms and views.
