Blue Waters Inn

Post by Simon Partridge »

We decided as we were going to dive at Speyside we would stay one night rather than rush back to Arnos Vale (you'd be amazed how you slow down in Tobago). Blue Waters Inn was our chosen bed. The stafff were all really friendly and we had a great evening boring those in the family that didn't dive on what we saw and how big it was :^o Our man behind the bar mixed wicked cocktails and we had a really good meal; chicken wings, delicious, three well cooked steaks, a very tasty king fish stew plus a lovely beef stew.
The rooms we had were ground level and on the beach which was great. Very large rooms all ensuite and with fans, air con & comfy beds. Only downsides were rooms we very musty and damp smelling. It maybe that the hotel had been very quiet and they just needed a good airing. It is obviously difficult being close to the sea and rainy season, but it was rather off putting. Lastly, sandflies!! You can't see the little b-----s or feel them until you start to itch. Not the hotels fault and probably worse due to rainy season. I had heard that drinking lots of alcohol made you less attractive to them, we gave it a good try, probably why we couldn't see or feel them until it was too late.
All in all a great overnight stop in a truly wonderful setting, thanks Blue Waters.
