We would definitely recommend this place to others. Charlotteveille is a lovely quiet town, and the Big Fish is well located just across the street from the beach. There are 5 guest rooms on the top floor, each with a small balcony and great view of the ocean. Our room was clean, and the air conditioning, shower, TV and fridge all worked great. Wifi was accessible from the dining room terrace. Walter, the owner, picked us up from, and delivered us back to, the airport (a 90-minute drive), and told us a lot of useful things - about where to go hiking and swimming -- as well as interesting things about Trinidad & Tobago. We arranged ahead of time with Walter's wife Sharon to rent a car during our stay. In the end, we only needed the car for 2 days since it is easy to find a car and driver for a rate equal to or less than the rental price, and the local drivers are far better than we in navigating the windy, often narrow, roads (Tobago follows the British in using right-side drive cars). The Big Fish serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, but with scant variation. We stayed 5 nights and the only fish on offer (other than shrimp the first 2 nights) was the same fish, cooked the same way. We were delighted to find no mosquitoes or other insects - we were told that December-March are usually insect-free. Terrific!
