can anyone help please- we are going out to Tobago for our first time in December and are staying in The Grafton, what i would like to know is if it is 110v or 240v electric and what type of adaptors we need?

Definitely 110v, possibly 240v also.

Paul you're going to need a UK to US plug adapter.

You do not mention what type of unit you will use in Tobago, if its computer, cellphone etc, than it shouldn't be a problem.
But other types of electric units might not take both 50/60Hz. Tobago has US-standard 115VAC 60Hz and US-standard outlets and plugs.
