Accomodation not too expensive

Compared to what we are used to seeing around Ontario, I find the accomodation extremely reasonable in Tobago. I'm surprised to hear some guests commenting it's expensive. Maybe hotels are much cheaper in England and Europe?

When I see average rates for small hotels and apartments (not the "top notch" ones) renting for $30-$60 CAD per night I almost fell off my chair. Even the most run down, seediest, dirtiest, scariest motel in my area would be at least double that rate! Being a professional carpet cleaner by trade, I have been in every hotel in my area and I have seen, and cleaned things in there that would give you nightmares. And yet, the rates around here would never go below $80 per night for the most run-down establishment, this area is somewhat scenic, but doesn't compare to Tobago.

*Disclaimer* This video is not to promote our business, it's just to show a motel we cleaned that charges typically
$90-$125 CAD (around 580-810TT) per night (1 bdrm with bath, no kitchen, no food or service of any kind) and there is NOTHING scenic in the area. We found maggots in the carpet while cleaning.
THIS IS NOT A TOBAGO HOTEL.

78 views and not one comment from the Peanut Gallery. I am deeply shocked.
