As I say in our hotel listings, the small Sandy Point beach outside the hotel is not always ideal for swimming and most guests will take the 10-minutes walk to Store Bay. Haven’t stayed at the hotel, personally, but the reports I’ve read have been good. Have a great time and please let us know what you think of the hotel and Tobago in general.

Yup, stayed at the Sandy point hotel a couple of times and thinking of staying there again for 1 week, in Feb/March. directly after the Hilton! (The Hilton is free - Hotel points - and Sandy point we pay for with our own hard earnt wonga - so it matters.) Stayed at the Hilton before review on the web site is pretty accurate. Sandy Point gives you value for money and is in touch with reality!. There are good things and not so good things. Everything that you need is there, in an honest way. I have only experience of staying in the Studio Apartments and they are supprisely good - the view outside the back of them is all that - bit of a bombsite with a bit of rubbish - but you only see that when entering and leaving the studio and its not that bad. The 'business end' the view from the balcony, on the otherside, is overlooking the green and pool. It's OK to breakfast on - quite pleasant. Air conditioning can be a bit noisy at night so can the disco (Sat only). Everything else is honest to good. Didn't spend much time in tended to go out for meals - enjoyed the walk some nights to central parts (15 Mins Store Bay). It an OK place to base yourself there. Its not the Ritz ... but hey its honest. Wendell [email protected]

can i just re-iterate the above comments about what surprisingly good value the apartments at the rear of the pool are?

we were upstairs overlooking the wasteground but only from the front door and not a problem. apartment had 2 proper bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a living/dining area that really was big enough for living and dining.

We just booked our honeymoon, one week in St Lucia and one week in Tobago in the beginning of june. On Tobago we will stay in Sandy Point Hotel.
According to the travel agency it is a "3+ hotel (and the pictures look nice, for what its worth  ), with about 30 rooms with AC and well equiped kitchens. The hotel is located next to the sea and features a tenniscourt, gym, jacuzzis, a nice garden, two resturants and free transport to the beach", supposedly "Store Bay" mentioned above.

I will return with some feedback when we get back, and if someone have updated information on this hotel, please post here. :)

Nice website by the way, very informative and objective.

Just arrived home from a week in Tobago at Sandy point apartments, and some things where good, other things not. We stayed in the smaller house on the other side of the road from the reception.

The apartment was ok. The place was very clean, although a bit worn. Plenty of space, and adequate kitchen equipment.
After the first night of heavy rain we had a few puddles of water in the bedrom, but appearantly the hotel knew about that cause they didnt seem very surprised when i notyfied them in the morning. Just told us to alert the maid who mopped up and equpped us with towels to put on the floor to be prepared for the next rain.

The AC was rather noisy, but after some modifications made with pieces of folded toiletpaper we managed to get the worst vibration sounds go away. :)

Our maid Claudette did a very good job looking after the place, but the hotel did seem to lack extra towels, sometimes we didnt get new towels until late in the afternoon.

The poolarea was green and nice, but the shower was out of order, and looked like it had been quite a while.

The airport was close but it was never disturbing, only a few planes taking off and landing each day.

The beach was really bad - small, rocky and shallow. We took one look at it and then walked down to the much nicer Store bay, 10 minutes down the road.

Didnt try the resturant, but it looked nice, with a nice view facing the ocean.

5/10
