The Top River Pearl is a fantastic place to stay in a fantastic part of the world. I was hesitant to write this review out of a desire to keep the town and the apartments a "secret", but that would not be fair to the exceptional owner/operator, Rainer. You will not find a friendlier man in all the world. The location is a short stroll up the hill from where the other accommodations are so the view was nicer and you really get a residential feel staying there. The apartments are smart and clean and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. We sat for hours and watched the parrots fly and squawk all around the village. The attached capucino bar offers delicious breakfast and only the finest coffees for guests and other visitors to Charlotteville. Rainer was even nice enough to go out of his way and provide us breakfast when the bar was not open. We did not need to take advantage of the accessory services the Top River Pearl offers such as transportation and tours, etc, but if the rest of the experience was any indication, they are top notch as well. When we return to Tobago -- and of course to Charlotteville -- we will again stay at the Top River Pearl. I suppose that's the best thing you can say about an accommodation. If you're in Charlotteville, you can't go wrong staying with Rainer at the Top River Pearl.
