We have now visited Ocean Air in February/March five times and are looking forward to next year. We have always been quickly scooped up at the airport by Sally or Michael and in no time are back "home". We come firstly to windsurf but returning to the apartment for a beer or G&T in the cool Atlantic breeze on the balcony is a joy. There seldom are any mosquitoes on this side of the island. The apartment is luxurious for four people but would be comfortable for larger families as there are 3 bath or shower facilities. The beach is a short walk and the pool and golf are on site. We have tended to self cater more each year, the shopping is much more of an adventure than Tesco Fresh fish is easily available and this year we bought meat from a beautiful farm.
The windsurfing is at Pidgeon Point, about a 20 minute drive and is excellent as there is a large area protected by the reef. There is also wave sailing on the reef for the experts. The windsurfing centre is efficiently run with rescue cover. Boards need to be booked in advance, this can ve done through Sportif, and a good selection of sails are available each day. For non windsurfing spouses there are trips out to the reef where the amazing fish life can be seen either from the boat or by snorkelling. I warn you, the island is very addictive!
